In 2006 we stopped over in Milan for a few days. Although this was not our first time there; we had the luxury of time to enjoy this vibrant city at a more relaxed pace.
In addition to being Italy’s financial center, busines hub and fashion capital, Milan is also one of European Union‘s most important centres for business and finance, with its economy being the world’s 26th richest by purchasing power.
Even though, Milan would not make it to my “top tier” destinations to visit in Italy; it would certainly make it to the next one. The city does have a long history going back to 400 BC, many interesting sites to explore and a great cuisine to enjoy. Just Duomo (Milan’s Cathedral-the world’s 4th largest church completed over 5 centuries), the 15th century churuch of Santa Maria delle Grazie (to see Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper”) and Teatro alla Scala(a world famous Opera House) make Milan worthy of at least a short stop.
Enjoy and have the “Bestest Day”!
