Today, I am starting a vest for my nephew, Arman. He will be six in three weeks, so this must be done super quickly.

All I have so far is the yarn. I thought if I buy the yarn, I would have to knit it. I came upon a Peruvian cotton boucle at my neighborhood yarn shop which I liked a lot. The colors were too pretty to decide only on one; so I bought 5 balls in different colors: Brown, Green, Yellow and Blue.

All I need now is a pattern. He is into monsters, dragons and snakes. I thought about doing a dragon but don’t think my colors lend themselves to a dragon motif. I might just do stripes or a border motif instead.

I did start my square sample for gauging purposes and I do like knitting with this yarn and love the soft and uneven texture.

As you can see, for now the only certainty is that this project would be a vest. Will figure out the rest soon, hopefully by this weekend…
