Germany> Berlin

September 30, 2010

We drove the 300km distance between Minden and Berlin in 3 hours. The ever going road construction and traffic delayed us a bit. Once in Berlin, we dropped off our bags at the hotel and returned the car. By then, it was already past 2 and we were very hungry. Fortunately, there was a Galleria (dept store) right next door. We had a wonderful 2-course lunch at its basement gourmet shop/cafe for 8 Euro a piece. We then walked back to the hotel passing by some of the Berlin’s famous sites as sun was starting to set.
I like Berlin’s mix of old and new architectures and its canals and many bridges crossing over them. We’ll see more of this dynamic city when we return on Saturday.
Next stop: Krakow
