2003> Spain was our destination. We flew into Barcelona which soon became one of my favorite cities thanks to the genius of Gaudi. A couple of days later, we flew south to Malaga, Picasso’s birthplace (another one of my favorites). From here, our two weeks long road journey started to: the mysterious Seville, the old Cordoba, the unforgettable Ronda, the solemnly religious Toledo and home to yet another favorite painter- El Greco, Granada and the magnificent Alhambra, the little fortified town of Avila and finally Madrid, home to the great Prado Museum and Picasso’s Guernica. What a trip!
2004> A last minute trip… Italy was calling me and I had waited for a while to visit a special place there by the Mediterranean coast- Cinque Terre. We flew into the great city of Florence. This time, we were on a slower pace in this inspiring town. We took the bus to the beautiful Sienna driving through the lovely Tuscan countryside. And then it was time to start on our rail journey to the unforgettable Cinque Terre with stopovers in Lucca and Pisa and Portofino. After a few days, we reluctantly boarded our train northward to the final legs of our trip: Nice and Monaco
