Mashatu & Mala Mala

June 30, 2012

“My aim is to put down on paper what I see and what I feel in the best and simplest way.”
― Ernest Hemingway

If I were to follow Suit, I would write about my last few days spent in Africa this way-
What I see is raw, vast, unpredictable and breathtakingly beautiful. I see colors and shapes blending into the surroundings as if they were not there. I see arid savannahs next to the green hills; and water holes where the soil is dry, deeply wrinkled and cracked. I see sunsets and sunrises that bring poetry to any soul. I see wild animals with gentle eyes that softly move as if not to disturb the air they move through or the ground the walk on.
What I feel is- I am overjoyed, bewitched and enchanted. I feel the excitement every bend of the road could bring and what might be patiently hiding, trying hard not to be discovered, under the shadow of bushes and camouflaged between the branches of trees.
I see more than I could ever imagine to see in a single blink of my eyes and I feel immeasurably happy and constantly intrigued.
