To me, there is Fall and then- there are the other three seasons. I look forward to September because it is the prelude to the Fall.
In my family, we celebrate Autumn by gathering at Our Magical Place in Upstate New York over the Columbus Day Weekend. We go pumpkin and apple picking and make our annual Aash Reshteh (an Iranian noodle soup) which is eaten outdoors on a blanket of colorful leaves. This fun-to-pronounce vegetarian noodle soup is a divine concussion of fresh herbs, dried mint, beans, onion, garlic, wheat noodles and kashk (thick whey made of yogurt).
