It is with great pleasure to announce that I have joined the Knit Picks Independent Designer Team. I have been a long time fan of their needles and affordable array of yarns and it feels just right to marry into their family- so to speak. As a designer, I salute Knit Picks for providing a great platform for designers to design more freely and be directly involved with the knitting public.
Now about this design-
Defining Words: Elegant, Versatile, Transitional, Straightforward
Description: A Project For All Seasons
The project starts with a bold border which gives ground to a basic ribbing pattern. A clever I-Cord bind off defines the top edges and hides a ribbon that can be pulled through to transform the scarf into a little capelet , a cozy snood or even a cowl. Done in medium weight wool/blends; it would make an essential wardrobe garment for all seasons. Also, a great alternative would be to knit it as a more formal piece; say in a sparkling, beaded or sequin yarn .The pattern is simple to follow and the length and width can easily be adjusted for a perfect custom fit. I admit that the border requires some attention while knitting (making sure the cast on is not tight) and stitch markers will be of great help in knitting the border. But after the first couple of inches; all you would be doing is ribbing.
